The Merrimack Valley Region has many assets to assist both manufacturers and job seekers in the Region. As part of the environmental scan for the Regional Innovation Grant, an assessment of resources was conducted and incorporated into the Asset Mapping Report. A summary of resources is provided for your reference – full details are available in the report.
Summary of Resources -- Manufacturing
- Education and Training Providers – including public vocational-technical high-schools, community colleges, four-year colleges and universities, and community-based, nonprofit education and training providers.
- Public Workforce Development System – various local, state and federal agencies including the US Department of Labor, State Departments of Education in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, partnerships, specifically Manufacturing Extension Partnerships, and state workforce and economic development cabinets.
- Economic Development and Planning Agencies – Regional, State and local agencies including Massachusetts Biotechnology Council, Merrimack Valley Venture Forum and Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Center.
- Other Workforce Development Providers – including proprietary vocational and technical programs and consulting firms and staffing/temporary employment agencies.
